74 degrees!!

Yeah! It is a nice cool day today!! I am so glad! After a brush with heat exhaustion/ dehydration on Saturday afternoon.. I am beyond glad that we will have a nice cool week ahead of us! I always say I want to be in warmer climates...but let's face it.. I am spoiled. We had like 3 days that were 90 degrees plus and I was a whining and a crying...without humidity. How can I ever come back home????

Hee hee

So glad it is back to a normal Wyoming summer...

:)

another chance for a chuckle

Here is a picture taken by Keelee's parents the day of the parade. This is (L-R) Keelee, me and Jodi in our "traveling" gear. This is right before we borded our coach for the parade. Very flattering isn't it????

Well fun times!!! How often to I get to dress up as a frontier woman anyway...right???

CFD'd out!!

Thank the good Lord that CFD is over. I think we have had our fill. Tim and I went to Trace Adkins/ Montogomery Gentry on Friday night and had a fantastic time!!! Then on Saturday morning ( we missed the parade) we heaed to back to Frontier Park for the rodeo. We met up with Uncle Jack, Aunt Heidi, Alec, Spencer and Quinn ( thanks for the tickets). It was so great to get to hang out with them. You can see the pic of the boys (L-R Alec, Quinn, Spencer) We also went on the midway and played games and went on rides with them. It was HOT!! But we had a blast!! In the booth during the rodeo Tanner got to meet some real cowboys and of course even the visiting rodeo queens ( see him pictured with Ms. Rodeo Alabama and Ms. Rodeo Oklahoma) Tanner also rode the rollercoaster with Aunt Heidi in the FRONT seat! After the great time at the park, we headed to say Goodbye to the Durelia's. We will definatly miss Major D and Shiela they hosted thier own party and it was ablast as usual. We all were up late so today we will veg and try to stay cool.

Thanks for checking in on us! Until next year CFD... :)

thursdays fun

First we beat the heat with some full fledged water gun fights and a dip in the pool. Needless to say we were all soaked to the bone. I told Tanner we were practicing for the "water gun game" at the park. Well we played that and Daddy won ( darn him) at least he gave the prixe to Tanner. After naps and dinner we headed out to the midway to tackle the rides, games and cotton candy! We had a great time...Tanner was soooo excited! Tim and I took turns taking him on the rides. Of course when Tim took him I took pictures... Tim is not so good at the picture taking thing. He did snap a shot of Evan and I showing off one of the prizes from the fishing game. Horrible picture of me... but you get the idea... :)

Anyway a great time was had by all. We are anxious for our concert tonight!

And Saturday is the parade and rodeo and a going a way party for some more friends.

More pictures as they come... promise!

Thanks for stopping by! Gotta clean these rugrats and get to the store! It is going to be 100 degrees today..YUCK!!

Hodge podge

Well as predicted we have had a crazy couple of days... and no end in sight just yet. On Wednesday morning we went to see the Thunderbirds with Kim and Matt and Kim's dad. I could not get a single shot of the flying because they were too fast for my camera. I did get a rare shot of Evan being a grump. Then Wednesday night we headed to Landry's birthday party. Check out that awesome cake that Kari made... I was soooo impressed! And it was so yummy! It tasted better then it looked if that was even possible! They had family in from Texas and Tanner had such a blast playing with the boys Gunner and Legend. Especially Legend cause they are both the same age. They just had a blast. We ended up doing fireworks fairly late and came home and crashed out.

Yesterday was ride and game day at the park....topped off with some cotton candy..yum yum!! I think I will add those pics in the next post...cause I have trouble uploads too many picks at once!

TONIGHT IS MONTGOMERY GENTRY!!! Yeee Haw!! I am excited!!!

Well off to feed the kiddos...they are getting restless!

hee haw!!

This is Tim and I all decked out for the PBR on Tuesday. Uncle Matt watched the boys so we could go. I love the PBR! We had a blast!!

As you can tell by our attire it was pretty chilly and rainy tuesday night...but it didn't "dampen" our spirits! I even got to see Beth and Lindsey! So, that was a fun time!! Beth took some pics of the three of us there...and if she posts them I will put them here for folks to see.

Thanks for checking in! I have promised a VERY anxious Tanner a dip in his kiddie pool today so I better get to doing just that!

Happy Birthday to Donna!!

Happy Birthday Donna! We all hope that you enjoy your time in Chicago!! Have a great birthday!!

Love ya!!

me looking silly!

Okay I have tried and tried to get this to post...so here we go again. Here is me looking silly before the home tours on Sunday. (I put two pics so you could see how little Evan looks by the skirt.) Seems we did not get any pictures of me on Sat in my "traveling garb" but I know Keelee's mom took a pic so I am sure that one will surface at some point. I did do the home tours yesterday and it was HOT but it was fun. I think in total more then 500 people take that tour..pretty crazy! I ended up being there for over 4 hours and then we all headed to Sam and Beth's for some bar-b-queing and visitng with friends. Good times! We got home fairly early and got the boys tucked in. It was a busy weekend and this week is sure to be CRAZY too..we have something every night just about.

So, my goal today get all the laundry done and the house a good scrub down so that I can enjoy the week with the boys..

Thanks for checking in on us as always... hope you all have a good chuckle at my expense today!

few more shots that would not upload...

Tanner posing with a Budweiser Clydesadale "Ted". Evan modeling a cowboy hat and Tanner meeting some folks in the Old Western town including"Doc Holiday".

doing the tourist thing...

So we did some exploring yesterday of Cheyenne Frontier Days. First the parade. I was riding in that Stagecoach pictured ( can't really see me...blame the hubby). Then we headed to the park and checked out the sites. We saw the Indian Village ( Tanner in the Tee Pee) and the Old West Village ( one of the largest and oldest wagons used in Cheyenne pictured with the boys) and walked around a bit. It was hot and the sun was bright. We got home at 3:00 and we were all so beat we all napped and woke up just in time for church. Today I am doing the home tours on base and the boys will explore Fort D.A. Russel Days. It is funny to us that this is our 4th Frontier Days and Tanner doesn't remember a single thing. Maybe this year. Well we are blending in and being tourists. We had a great time at the Steve Miller Band on Friday night and we are looking forward to Montgomery Gentry/Trace Adkins this coming weekend. We will be going with our friends Tim and Tara coming up from the Springs...so that makes it even more fun. We will also go to the PBR this week... which I just love. And maybe catch a rodeo. Anyway I will keep you updated via pictures and stories I am sure.

Off to get all geared up in my Old West garb for the day...

Bye for now!

the book and the movie

Well I went to see the Devil wears Prada last night. I was 50 pages from the end of the book when Kim and her friend Debbie came to pick me up. I was anxious to see it...eventhough I had heard it didn't follow the book. Well it was really NOTHING like the book. But both were good in thier own right. I prefered the book of course. And of course rushed home to try and see if the ending was even similar. Not at all. I thought it was amusing that the author even uses the name of the real person that the story is based on in the book; Anna Wintour editor of Vogue. Pretty gutsy! A great story either way.... but why change the boyfriends name and even who he is??? I didn't really get that at all.

But you have to see it on the big screen to see the clothes....amazing!!!

Anyway that is today's exciting post! :)

It worked!!!

So I am in the shower....trying to enjoy the 5 minutes a day of "me time" and in busts Tanner. "Mom Evan took a toy right out of my hand" So of course as he is telling me the story...Tanner does not talk fast...."then what happened was..... I was playing with a toy...then what happened was..." Anyway ofcourse in this time Evan has arrived in the bathroom and is standing at the end of the tub looking in ...and giving me the business... I swear I needed a camera to see his little face. Of course I asked Tanner if this can wait until after my shower and if he can get his brother out of the bathroom... "he won't come!" So Tanner decides to get his harmonica and start playing.... and Evan follows him out of the bathroom and down the hall...all I hear..."It worked Mom! It worked! " Okay I had to laugh...and I pictured the Pied Piper. I don't know what would make him think of a harmonica but it was too funnny!

Big brother at work...

I was cooking dinner and I hear... and I quote "Now pay atention Evan I am going to teachyou how to play dinosaurs now!" I had to laugh and of course snap a pick to share with you all. Hee hee. I guess he is taking this big brother stuff seriously.. Okay dinner time. I tried a Beef stroganoff recipe. With noodles, carrots and asparagus.... yum!

Gosh my blog is so intriguing isn't it????

No more T-ball

Well the T-ball season ended last night. Here is a pick of Tanner showing off his badge and his medal. I think he really enjoyed playing this year. Eventhough I don't want to rush him growing up I cannot wait until he plays baseball ( it is so cute watching the little kiddos play). Anyway, he had a blast. I missed the last game because I had a parish council meeting so I snapped this proud momma picture when I got home.

A special thanks to Kim for keeping an eye on Evan last night I really appreciate it. Of course I just sold it to Evan as a "date" with Avery...hope you don't mind! Thanks agian you are the best... I am looking forward to our "date" for tomorrow night ;)

Steve Miller Band

How nice! Uncle Matt showed up last night with 2 tickets to the Steve Miller Band concert this weekend and he will also watch the boys so we can go. What a sweet gesture. This weekend is the "official" kickoff to CFD ( for the out of towners) check it out at www.cfdrodeo.com I have already noticed a huge increase in traffic. Either way we will be attending the PBR ( Professional Bull riders) show and also Montgomery Gentry/Trace Adkins. I will be riding in the parade this weekend dressed in Old West garb and also participating in the home tours on base. The homes on base are very old and historic and lots of folks come in and walk thru them. We also dress up in Old West Wear for that. I will post some pics of that as well. I mean if I can't pick on myself who can I pick on???

More later...

Keelee you better post more comments cause I took off the word verification just for you!

the firefighter outfit

I referenced it in yesterdays post...but for some reason the picture would not download. ( This is the fireman outfit from Diego and Rio's house)

Plus I got nothin for today.

I usually keep my blog focused on my boys and not at on what is going on in the world. But against my better judgement I am going to make this one small exception. I watched Good Morning America today. They had a piece on "The American family" and they talked about breastfeeding in public. All these folks talked about how disgusted and outraged they are over it. I thought the piece had to be slanted. I went on the message boards at www.abcnews.com and I was in SHOCK! Most people talking about how disgusting it is. People even comparing it to "taking a dump" in public. I mean...are you kidding? I am a fairly easy going person.. you want to nurse then nurse...you want to formula feed... so be it...whatever works for mom and baby. I really think a lot of parenting is this way... live and let live.... BUT to say how disgusting this is just amazes me! Also Congrats to Babytalk to be the first magazine to show a nursing baby on this months cover. I just don't get what the big deal is and I really DO NOT get why naked women can be everywhere but God Forbid someone is nursing a baby?? Maybe if our young boys were exposed more to the natural use of the woman's body they would have more respect for women as a whole.

OKAY, stepping down from soapbox, that one really got under my skin this morning.

Sorry... I will not be making a habit of this behavior.

fun times

Here are some pics of the boys enjoying the trampoline. They also dressed up as firefighters in these cool fireman outfits that they had ( other peoples toys are the best!!)

Here is how we survived the 2 1/2 hour drive to the Springs... we plugged both boys into Veggie tales :) ( don't tell protective services okay :) )

And speaking of Child services...this is what Tanner did today... Child labor at it's best! I swear he wanted to.

Burning up!!!

It is HOT!!! The weekend was a scorcher!! We spent the weekend in Colorado Springs... we caught up with friends, Tara, Tim, Holly, Joe and Brent( and little JT). It was awesome to see everyone and we had a great time. We toured the Springs and looked at model homes. We are thinking that more then likely that is where we will be next and since Tim and I have the "new home" bug we thought we would at least look where we thought we would be going. This was basically a mission to get me to agree to the Springs. I have to say that I had a great time and I am pretty sold on the Springs..... it is a completely different world. I liked it. Now of course we have another year- 18 months here...but we thought if we build it would be good to get an idea.

I did not take any pictures... I know bad bad bad!! But we so enjoyed seeing the gorgeous homes of all of our friends that moved there... and we were pretty bummed about coming back to our old, boring home here...but it is home... :)

The other thing about burning up is Evan has been burning up all weekend. We have been dosing him with Tylenol and Ibuprofen both. This morning his fever was 105.3. YES we were panicing but apparently according to the DR this is a fairly common reaction to his shots that he had last week. In 10 % of kiddos they will have a high fever 1 week to 10 days later. I would be lying if I said that I was not still in panic mode...cause I am.... but if it conitues until tomorrow I will take him in for good measure...

Well that is all of our news... I have some play date pictures to post from Friday we had a blast playing with Angela's boys Rio and Diego...

So stop by later too....

Thanks for checking in on us!

Puppy pictures...

Okay for some reason it would not take the pictures of Parker and Brapp enjoying the heat with us..so I made a new post just for them.

It's HOT!!!!

Okay so I am offically spoiled living here about the heat. And as I write this I realize how crazy it sounds to those of you who live in warmer climates... BUT I will complain nonetheless!! It is 90 degrees and 11 % humidity and I swear it feels like 110 to me! Gosh what will happen to me when I move somewhere that has summer heat??? Anyway we did eat our snack and lunch outside and were able to be out there for about 30 minutes before we all decided...it is TOO hot!! Here are a few pics of the boys eating, Tanner blowing bubbles and of course the much loved puppies.

Yesterday we were invited for a playdate with Jack and Landry. We had a blast visiting and the kids really needed that play time with other kiddos... ( I think they are sick of looking at me everyday!)

Tonight we were also invited to a playdate with Rio and Diego... I will try to snap some pictures. I enjoyed visting so much yesterday with Kari I am afraid I only took one picture of the boys and it didn't turn out so well.

We have big weekend plans and I am soooo excited! I will let you know later. If we didn't I would have certainly set up the pool ( and if I knew it would be this hot) but we shall survive.

Last night at T-ball

Okay I thought about it and I can post a few pics of last night's tball game. Tim is really pleased with how the team is coming together. They really get it this year. Of course before each game Tim has to explain to them where the bases are and to drop the bat AFTER they hit the ball...but what do you want from 3 year olds :)

We ride our bikes to T ball because the fields are not too far from our house...but last week...it poured right before the game... and I don't mean rained I mean poured...well needless to say we had to bike home. And EVAN yelled all the way home..not even cried...just yelled like he was literally telling us off. Tim and I laughed and peddled as fast as we could of course...but the kids mind you were in the buggy and protected from the rain with the plastic cover so I am not sure why he was even so mad...little bugger!!!

That one is out of here.... ( Everytime Tanner gets up to bat he says "watch Mom I am going to hit a double!" hee hee)

<
Tanner's biggest fan!

Fielding is easier with your Dad helping out!

Okay really bye for now! :)

Today's exciting adventure...

A trip to the dentist for Tanner. I love Tanner's dentist and so does he. The office that he goes to really was created with kids in mind. From the toy room while you wait, to the giant fish tank, to the ceiling with stars including shooting stars ( Tanner's favorite of course). He just loves it. It really is fun for him to go to the dentist and of course the good news is that his teeth look great!! So, I am hoping this start will make him never scared of the dentist and always excited about the trip. He pretty much told the hygentist what to do cause apparently he is a pro ( he had his first visit at 2) :) Anyway, no cavities so he got to put a star with his name on it on the no cavities board and he also got a prize out of the machine. He chose a bouncy ball... apparently you can never have too many of those... hee hee.

Well that is all I got... kinda boring non eventful and no pictures. I promise to do better tomorrow!! Thanks for checking in on us though..

our handy work...

Okay so we got creative. I have wanted something that I could use to hang the kids artwork. I saw something in the Pottery Barn Kids catalog and Tim said.... I could make that. Hee hee... well we did. In fact we made three of them. Two with stars and one airplanes... I think they turned out pretty cute... ( if I do say so myself) and it is something to do with the artwork. So, thought I would share with my blog readers.

And for good measure...here is a silly picture of Tanner this morning in the tub," making a hat out of bubbles!!"

Okay that is the exciting post of the day.... I am hoping our rain has finally subsided and we can take a much needed family bike ride today.
