Tammi and the boys!

Fun Saturday

Saturday we headed out to a Settler's Celebration in a nearby town. It was a blast! There were a ton of things for the boys to try. We did woodworking, horse rides, made toys and necklaces, made homemade apple cider and tried it and how much work it takes to make cornmeal ( the old fashioned way). Chatted with a real blacksmith and saw his creations. Learned to walk on stilts and play with other settler's toys. Learned all about settler's clothing. It was a blast for the family and we will definatly check it out again next year. I hope that you enjoyed the pics... it was definatly a great photo oppurtunity.

Thanks for stopping in... more posts soon!

I am in a rare postition when I have a lot to post but I need to space them out..so stay tuned in the next few days.

Much love to all!

Tim and I

Well Tim and I attended an AFIT dinner at the club on friday night. I was okay... It was a night out with wine and conversation with adults so it could have been worse for sure.

Happy Blogiversary!

The first family picture posted on the blog. Taken at the Daane's toga Party.
even little Evan was in baby toga. Tanner's toga was finding Nemo. So little!

Happy 3 year anniversary to my blog! WOW!! 3 whole years! It is so hard to believe that it has been 3 years that I have had this blog. I took some time the other day to look back and I just cannot believe all of the adventures we have had and how the boys have grown.

Thanks to all of my readers for stopping by. We are off to some adventures... in search of some Good Ole' fashioned Ohio festivals... shouldn't be hard to do.. they seem to have a festival for everything here.

New Pictures to come!!

Much love to all

Where it all started....

I thought it was worth 2 pictures...

It all started with an Apple pie.. in this very pie pan. It is that wonderful time of year, Fall. I love Fall and especially as we ease into fall with a slight cooling down of the days. The trees are changing and it is such a beautiful time of year.

And Another thing, this pie was made by my hubby and it was soo yummy! I was sure impressed.
Okay we have a busy weekend to post about.
Much love,

Down on the Farm

Isn't he cute?
Me and the boys by the tractor
Tim and the boys
Feeding the goats
Aw...who doesn't love goats
Great barn
Climbing and being silly
sheep
sheering
still sheering

We checked out a local farm on Saturday. It was a super neat place and the kids loved it. We did not do the wagon ride to the pumpkins yet...but we will be going back for that activity for sure. We saw sheep getting sheered, feed the critters and bought some fall goodies for decorations. I am sooo excited for Fall this year. We had such a nice warm summer... and now I am ready for the cool down, color change that fall provides. Enjoy the pictures. More soon.

Thanks for stoppin by.

NO School

So, after Tanner's 1st full week of school... they were closed today and already closed again tomorrow! We just went on a drive and can't believe how many are still without power... in fact we thought we might score some ice cream but Grater's, Ritter's and even Friendly's..all closed!

CRAZY!

Good night!

:)

Hurricane Ike...

Yes I have lots of family and friends that reside in real danger zones for hurricanes so it is okay to laugh at me.... but Ike came through. I know I live in Ohio!! And I thought it VERY bizarre. And of course I am not comparing our damage to the coastal areas in any way shape or form but it is a little crazy. We had crazy wind and our power was on an off and off for good about 3 pm yesterday. NO FOOTBALL!! Now that is roughing it... :) All of the schools were closed in the areas. We are so lucky that our power came on at about 5 am. There are still lots of lights down and trees and power lines... and lots of people without power in our area. We are definatly one of the VERY lucky ones. It is also still crazy in the area. The stores are out of all kinds of storm essentials and the gas stations keep running out of gas and have lines around the block. This area is in PANIC mode for sure.

Well we are all doing well. Thankful to have power and all of the luxuries of home. I am so happy that we had our generator so we were able to save all of the food we had just come home from the grocery store with...that is always a bummer.

Well I am off to try some jeans on the boys and see what fits and what doesn't looks like long pants will be making a come back here soon as fall is quickly approaching. We are looking forward to all things fall like football, cooler weather, changing leaves etc.

Thanks for stoppin' by.

I will have some more pictures to share soon!

Much love to all!

Kindergarten stuff!

First of all the above picture is Tanner's nemesis... has been for years... I think he was 3 years old when he first started talking about the Monkey bars. It was always something he just knew he would be able to do... in Kindergarten... it is after all the pinnacle of growing up..well to a 3 year old anyway. And yesterday when I picked him up... as soon as he saw me the news came blurting out!! Good news.. and bad news... first the bad news... " I hurt my eye and my cheek when I fell on the monkey bars." said very matter-of-fact. Then the good news.. "But....guess what Mom?? I got back right back up and I did them.. all the way accross... "I CAN DO THE MONKEY BARS!" The news was too exciting to wait for Daddy to get home... we had to tell him on his phone call... had to let him know right away!!

That is good stuff!! We are so proud of you Tanner.... now the monkey bars... but we all know the possibilities are endless with a get back up. can-do attitude!

Love ya!!

In other news.... we are working on our first homework assignment. Every week he has 5 letters of the alphabet due for his alphabet book... we did his first 6 ( okay we over achieved a bit...but F was a pretty easy one)

Here are our finished products...

This penmenship thing is not quite as easy as I had hoped... but we are lucky because Tanner is sooo anxious to learn... as much as he can...as soon as he can.

Well thanks for stopping in...

Much love to all!
